Transcriptome

Whole Transcriptome Shotgun Sequencing, or RNA-seq allows a researcher access to a wealth of information about the RNA content of a sample. This data can be used to quantify transcription level of particular proteins in the cell, leading to new information about the proteins and gene regulation in a certain sample. Since RNA-seq quantifies the total amount of RNA present in a sample, it is often more sensitive than microarray hybridization approaches. RNA-seq can also lead to the identification of novel splice variants, novel exons, and novel transcribed regions.

EdgeBio can provide whole transcriptome analysis for human and mouse samples.  Our service includes sample enrichment with the Nugen Ovation RNA-Seq System v2, Illumina TruSeq library preparation, 100x100 paired end sequencing on the Illumina HiSeq and data anlignment.
